Not a problem with the right do it yourself part and simple instructions. Toilet Repair @ the wax ring: water around the base of toilet not coming from the supply line, likely a bad wax ring! turn off supply, unbolt toilet, cut free caulking or grout and remove, clean well and install new wax ring, reinstall toilet Toilet Repair @ base: typically the grout or caulk here is for looks, if the wax ring has been installed correctly there should be no moisture @ base, but needs to be caulked out or grouted preferably caulking because it remains flexible and wont crack from the live load of usage Cant shut off Supply Valve behind tiolet? needs to be replaced, shut off supply @ house main and disassemble, replace with new like item of same application Leak @ Tank on 2 piece toilet? turn off supply line and flush a few times to drain tank, inspect closely, perhaps leaking at float assembly? if leak appears through a crack in tank then remove and replace with same make or model. Maybe it needs only new rubber gasket @ float base seal… Leaking or running typically: would be @ internal flapper, drain tank again and replace with new, same make and model |
